The navy shirt features a watermark pattern of a stylisation of housing at nighttime – complete with occasional windows illuminated – intended to evoke the different districts – or “quartiers” – of the city of Marseille. The message being that whilst all these districts across the city and conurbation have distinct personalities based on the multicultural nature of “Mars”, they share common ground, literally and figuratively, in being “marseillais” – and in their support of l’OM.
