The 1994–96 Germany home shirt, with its iconic black, red and gold diamond pattern across the chest, was first worn by the reigning world champions at the 1994 World Cup in the USA. This period cemented Jürgen Klinsmann as a German icon. At USA 94 he was the side’s talisman, scoring five goals, including the winner in the opener against Bolivia, a brace against South Korea and a goal in the 3–2 round of 16 win over Belgium.
